Amusing April

To start off this wonderful month of all months I took the kids to the beach for some relaxation on my birthday. We got home just in time for naps but we walked inside to find a spotless house, and on the table was sitting a bouquet of flowers in a brand new (and our first!) vase. Up until then I always put flowers in a plain old plastic cup. Along with the flowers was a balloon, a bag of Jelly Belly's and a huge jar filled with - 100 - reasons why my hubby loves me.

After dinner Brad went to Scouts so I took the kids to see Robin's new house for the first time. As we were sitting on her back porch staring up at the gigantic trees that cover their yard her husband came out with an ice cream cake singing Happy Birthday with the kids. It was so sweet and thoughtful, and totally unexpected. It melted my heart. Then I came home to find a huge cupcake from Molly sitting in front of our door. It was a good birthday (even if I lost my hubby to Scouts for the evening).

I took Jayda to get a hearing test this month, just to cover our bases since we have hearing loss in the family. She has obviously started remembering her vaccinations because lately every time we go into a building that may resemble a doctor office she starts screaming the second we walk in the door. It makes for such breezy errands.

After going through my underwear drawer and turning it all into scarves

She got so mad when she couldn't get it any of them off

Kallie's trying out a ballet class for a few weeks at my friend Heather's studio. It's been fun except for the fact that she doesn't participate. At all. There's only three little girls in the class and sometimes she'll will start out dancing and having fun but as class continues she retreats to the side of the room and stops participating. She's acted this way in other situations too and I wish I could figure out how she's feeling and why she does this.

Ready for ballet class!

We couldn't find Brad's wallet for about five days. Finally Kallie went into her room to play with her kitty cat hat (the kind with the long braids that hang down from the ears) and sure enough the wallet was inside.

Hmmm...I see a witto white arm reaching for the bushes.

Those are Kallie's friends...not mine.

We drove down to Fort Lauderale to go to the open house of a new temple for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. We used another part of that cruise package I talked about earlier. One part was in Orlando, another in Fort Lauderale and the third part is the actual cruise we have yet to take. Based on our experience in Orlando we expected to be put in another nasty motel with the worst excuse for "food included in our buffet restaurant" but to our surprise they put us in a Holiday Inn and it was awesome.

Of course we had to check out the beach. The water was actually blue there! But the sand is thicker and darker. So I guess Jax beaches have their pluses.

Eating the sand, of course

Daddy reading a bedtime story in the hotel

Cousins sharing a laugh

An updated pic of my friend Robin's phone. There are actual holes in it now!

Happy Easter!

I guess they felt like dancing after awhile

They have to take the park by storm. Calvin spent the day with us. This was right before another kid threw sand in his face and he got loads of it stuffed in his eyes. That was a fun experience. He ended up just fine though.

Jayda fell down at the grocery store and chipped both front teeth. You can see how long her misery lasted though:

I love how Jayda looks off to the side

Kallie Phrases:

After watching Kallie collapse on the floor I asked her what she's doing:
"I just get dead".

Licorice is "lick-fish"

Me: Good morning Kallie! How'd you sleep?
K: I sleeped tight.

Daddy talk to me! I want you to climb the tree and pick the leaves.

Kallie describes the different ages of the Frozen characters as Little Anna, Little Elsa or Long Anna and Long Elsa.

Kallie's first time singing in sacrament meeting with the Primary:

Without a doubt, every time I start playing piano Jayda gets the stool from the kids' bathroom and carries it to the piano to join me.
