Just January

Here we are again, it's Just January. A relaxing month after the holiday crazies.

My visiting teaching companion and I took one of our sisters to lunch at Frontier Pies and had a great time chatting. We always lose track of time. We talked about doing it again soon and then a week later all the routes changed so I got a new companion and sisters to teach. *Sniff*.

Started the year off with TWO kids in primary!

Rexburg had a "Snow Fest" at one of the parks. There were horse drawn sleigh rides, hot dogs, sledding, s'more station, polar bear diving and hot chocolate. It would have been even more fun if it hadn't been the coldest day of the entire winter. It was an interesting task keeping Taylor warm enough in her stroller. The kids still loved it.

There are certain types of fantasy movies that Brad has always enjoyed but have never interested me. I remember when they first came out and either I never wanted to see them or I did watch them at the request of someone else but I fell asleep or just didn't care.

But for some reason this month I decided to watch these types of movies with Brad. And I did. Without falling asleep. I even enjoyed them. We watched Inkheart, City of Ember and all three Chronicles of Narnia. At the end of the second Narnia I could tell Regina Spektor was singing the song but I'd never heard it before.

I looked it up and sure enough it was her and I loved the song. It's one I instantly connected with and it made me emotional even though it was the first time I heard it so it doesn't bring back any specific memories or remind me of a certain time in my life. I guess it was just perfect for the last scene of that movie.

This is the story of Kallie and Taylor's relationship.

I just love how she's smiling (at me) as well as her sausage fingers.

"Mommy, take a picture of me!"

Kallie's drawings as of late.

Playing with friend Anne

Watching sisters play in the snow again

Sadly I was not there to witness this moment. I've still never personally seen this happen.

Brad went to Island Park for a meeting and caught a picture of these moose...meese....moosen?

Brad's scouts did a carnival night and it was so fun! It was perfect for our girls' ages and they "won" lots of yummy treats.

Jayda takes matters into her own hands. She didn't want to have someone else paint her face, she wanted to do it herself.

Fun at open gym

I realize now we're acquiring a large collection of pictures with Taylor eating beets.

See that sneaky look on her face?

Kid Quotes:

Jayda: Taylor had a happy at me!

Kallie: Jayda do you wanna play Sick Bugs Check-Up game?

Jayda saying bedtime prayer: Bless Kallie to grow up and be a good mommy and bless Jayda to grow up and be a good daddy.
