Madly in May

At this point our family of five has found our groove. Taylor's a healthy, happy baby that sleeps 12 hour nights like her sisters and takes great naps. I've moved out of my "newborn fog" and I love the stage that Taylor is entering. My friend Kipin once said, "I love me a 6 month old baby but newborns aren't my favorite. They're kind of boring and I feel like I'll break them". I've realized how much I agree with her. Obviously I don't dislike newborns but life is so different and easier by the time they're 6 months old. Waking at night is a thing of the past and they start to sit up, laugh and be SO fun.

This month I went to the Saturday session of stake conference while Brad stayed home with the kids and it felt so great to give my full attention to the speakers and then socialize afterward for however long I wanted. I realized it had been way too long since I had left the house without the kids and decided Brad and I need to make my regular alone time a priority.

5 months old!

This was like, one block into our walk.

This day we only needed one thing from the grocery store so I decided to put the baby in a carrier and leave the diaper bag at home (it feels so freeing sometimes). As usual we hit up the bakery first so the girls could get a free cookie. We continued on to produce and as soon as we approached the bananas Taylor exploded in her diaper. We changed course to the diaper aisle and then the bathroom. Taylor had indeed pooped all over her outfit so I took it off and put her back in the carrier wearing just a diaper. The carrier actually covers her pretty well so we didn't look that hick walking out of the store.

Jayda insisted on carrying the grocery bag the entire way home no matter how much it slowed her down or how many times she had to stop and re-adjust her hold.

I've never cut the front of Jayda's hair but she's somehow rockin the bangs.

That time year again for cheap toddler days at the water park! I tried to get a sitter for the baby so I could enjoy it more with the girls. The sitter didn't work out so I was nervous to take all 3 kids by myself but thank heavens the day went flawlessly and it was so fun! After we left I thought about how many things could easily have happened to make it stressful but luckily they didn't. For example, I forgot to put a swim diaper on Jayda. If she had pooped they would have shut down the entire water park and everyone would have given me me dirty looks.

I plopped Taylor in the carrier and she stayed there the whole time whether we were in the pool, lazy river, sitting down or going on slides.

Best part of the day was when Kallie AND Jayda finally went down all the big slides! In years past they sat at the bottom and cheered on their friends who endlessly looped from sliding down and racing back up the stairs to go again. As soon as my girls both finally tried it they caught the fever and joined in the endless loop of sliding. I was so proud! I thought Kallie would always be afraid of stuff like this. Every time Jayda got to the top she marched right past everyone in line and plopped down on the slide. She's just so small and cute that everyone laughed and let her do it.

This was supposed to capture how all 3 of them got sunburned under their eyes. Probably because they rubbed off the sunblock as soon as we put it on.

For Memorial weekend we stayed at a condo resort in Orlando with my brother's family. We only went for two nights and we stayed at the resort almost the entire time and it was perfect. This was a vacation that was actually relaxing with a pile of little kids.

David's shoes were left at home so he rocked his big sister's gold dress shoes.

The pool had a beach!

Joy School graduation:

All the moms presented their child with a graduation cap (made with construction paper) and a pin

Jayda was so sad she didn't get a graduation cap

Sam's a great photo bomber

When the kids were asked what they wanted to be when they grow up, Kallie said "a grandma".

Daycare at the gym. This was before they saw Daddy and Mommy there to pick them up

This was bananas and strawberries. She'll never eat any real food if she doesn't like that!
