Savvy September

This month some friends and I started a preschool co-op for Kallie and her little friends. It's been fun to see what material they're learning as well as (and possibly more importantly to me at this point) social and listening skills.

I'm always mega nervous for my pregnancy glucose tests because I'm a sugar addict and I expect to be diagnosed with diabetes at any moment. Since I had to go to a separate lab to take the test, I forgot about it again and again until the lost possible second in my gestation. And I'm proud to say I passed for the third time! Hallelujah. We'll see if I take after my mom and get gestational diabetes during the fourth pregnancy (which was me).

Plugging her ears for shopping?

My precious Jayda turned TWO this month and I've decided 1.5 to 2.5 years old is the cutest age ever. It's so interesting to see the difference between my oldest child and the younger one that learns certain things way faster because she looks up to her sister. Jayda's fairly daring and willing to try new things, which is VERY different. She recently started coming up just to give me a hug and say, "I love you Mama" and it is the most adorable thing in the WORLD. While she doesn't seem to hear or notice my existence when I say "stop", she's good at following directions and loves to help by throwing away her diapers, putting her shoes away, cleaning up the bathtub toys and so on. I can't stand her cuteness. Or her two chipped front teeth. But WOW as of recently, that girl has some rank breath in the middle of the night. I wanna switch her from swallow-able kiddie toothpaste to the real stuff to help her breath but I checked and she does not know how to spit yet.

Grandma and Grandpa McGary gave Kallie a kitty hat on her last birthday so they gave Jayda one for hers and she's obsessed with it, as you can see. Would not take it off for bedtime.

We went to Krispy Kreme on Pirate Day and got 4 DOZEN free doughnuts for dressing up. My mind was blown. I expected one dozen for the whole family; maybe two at the most. We're experimenting with some by putting them in the deep freeze to see if they'll taste nearly as good later. We'll see.

Brad was summoned to jury duty for the first time and luckily it only lasted three normal days. While he was there and Kallie was at preschool I went to Walmart with Jayda and accidentally left my phone in the bathroom stall right before we left. I discovered it as we were driving so we turned back right away. We were probably gone 10 minutes but my phone was nowhere to be found. Of all places I had to do this at Walmart where there's a slim chance it'll be found by a sweet old lady that returns it to Customer Service. My awesome, new Galaxy S5 is gone. For other reasons I had recently dropped my phone insurance and I'm not due for an upgrade for over a year so I mourned for probably longer than I should have because in the grand scheme of things it's just a phone. And thankfully I saved my old phone to use in the meantime.

Paddle board!

This whole summer I felt like my pregnancy was gonna progress SO slowly but I can't believe September is already over. I hope the next couple months go by just as fast! I can't wait for this baby to get here. Who thinks our kids officially have a McGary "look" and this little girl will be a chunky strawberry blond like her sisters? Waiting to meet baby was definitely the hardest part the first time around. Now the hardest part is taking care of two littles with so much discomfort. The thing I always look forward to about post-pregnancy is sleeping on my stomach and back again (if only for a couple hours at a time, it still feels glorious).

Swinging away...

Not quite Jayda's ideal activity yet...

They are officially roommates!

Kid Quotes:

K: When the baby comes your tummy will open up. Will that be fun?

K: We're taking Susie to the doctor because she's sick. She's got throat puke.
