A Very Merry December

At the beginning of the month we had stake conference and there was a Christmas concert at Byu-Idaho the same day. We scheduled a sitter but then Jayda got sick and threw up so I stayed home with her during stake conference. I thought about going to the concert by myself while Brad stayed home because that's how much I love Christmas concerts. But Brad got home, we started the kids' bedtime routine like usual and by the time we left their room I realized it was too late to go.

We hadn't bought tickets yet but I regret that I didn't go to the concert because I love them SO much. They really get me into the Christmas spirit. Now I'm determined to go to one this year.

Last music class before Christmas break. They got to touch the harps! (The teacher has three of them)

I love how Kallie's reassuring Jayda and Anne is guiding both of them :)

Ward Christmas party

Had a brush fire down the street

Waiting patiently for the Rigby McGary's to arrive and break the fast. We found out their ward was fasting a different week. No wonder they took their time, not as hungry as us!

We had a Christmas dinner with the close by family and celebrated Taylor's birthday.

Happy first birthday Taylor!

Brad took the snowblower to the backyard and made a sledding hill for the kids. So of course the neighbor kids came to play.

She's almost as tall as me while standing on a stool...

Happy 7th anniversary! We celebrated in style, at Star Wars.

Taylor's actually sleeping like this. She takes after her aunt Hayley, who's known for her many weird sleeping positions in bed while I'm known for sleeping anywhere and everywhere.

We drove to Logan, UT to spend Christmas with my sister's family but first we went to Salt Lake for City Creek Mall and temple square Christmas lights.

Checking out the princess castle at the Disney store

On Christmas Eve we partied with my brother-in-law's family at their neighborhood club house. Yummy food, fun games and a cool mini movie theater downstairs.

Had some fun competition with Jeff and Brad on foosball.  That game is a pretty good workout! (Coming from someone that hasn't exercised in half a year).

Opening Christmas Eve pajamas

We had to wake up Jayda on Christmas morning...

Chowing down their sugary Christmas cereal

Unfortunately the baby and I both got sick while we were there and the worst of it was on Christmas day. We had sore throats, runny noses and coughs. Taylor fell asleep on me. I think she could breath easier by sitting up. I soaked it in!

You can tell how sick she was bc Asia is playing the harmonica in her ear!

She slept for a long time. Changed positions and everything. This is not her norm.

Finally awake! I was super sore by the end.

First time climbing the step stool.

Giving the donkey a doctor check up.

I'm the king of the world!

Taylor started walking right around Christmas time:

We came home from Logan and rested for a few days and then everyone on Brad's side came for his dad's surprise 65th birthday party (on New Year's Eve) and of course we partied for three more days.

Brad made this fun video of the weekend:

Day 1:    Celebrated Grandpa's birthday and New Year's

Day 2:    Went to Uncle Jim and Aunt Sandy's house in Driggs for a snow day

Day 3:    Went to the temple and did baptisms with the teenage nieces and nephews (it's pretty cool having all the priesthood spots filled with family members!) Then reserved the church and spent the rest of the day playing games and eating.

This is actual snow dangling from the roof of the house. It looked so cool!

Dashing through the snow on a two horse open sleigh
O'er the fields we go laughing all the way!

Kid Quotes:

Kallie to Mom: I don't like your face when you wear your hair up. I only like your face when your hair is down (as I'm putting my hair in a ponytail).

Taylor at 1 year: 26 lbs / 33 inches
